This is a superb quality antique oil on canvas painted by Egislo Manzuele in the 19th century) but painted on an original 18th century canvas and frame depicting a Dutch tavern scene. The artist emphasises the contrast between light and shade as was fashionable at this time. The people sitting around in a group appear to interact with each other and are dressed according to the fashion of the day. Although dark, there is no damage to the picture. The painting is signed on the back Egislo Manzuele (who was an Italian painter in Florence). It sits in the original wood and plaster frame.
