The fall is supported by two pull-out slides, with brass knobs, and features a reading bar, to support books. Below the fall is a bank of five graduated drawers in a two-over-three configuration. The drawers are elm lined, hand dovetailed and feature later top-quality Georgian brass handles and escutcheons. The fall and the drawers also each boast their original working locks, with working key (the bottom drawer does not feature a working lock). The bureau stands on bracket feet and retains its original backboards.
