Here is a stunning quality antique English Art Deco bur maple, satinwood and walnut three-door wardrobe, circa 1930, in fine original condition. The three-door wardrobe boasts lovely mirror matched burr maple veneers, original wooden handles and brass key escutcheons. The doors open to reveal the original mirror on the left-most door. The left hand side of the wardrobe interior comprises a storage compartment at the top, with a generous hanging space below, furnished with a hanging rail and 9 hooks. On the right hand side of the wardrobe comprises a fitted interior with a combination of shelves and drawers consisting of four open compartments at the top, with two drawers below. The drawers are mahogany lined and constructed with fine hand dovetail joints. Both doors retain the original working locks (with key), door latches and the original wooden handles. The doors even feature lockable closure hinges, to allow you to adjust the maximum opening of the doors. The wardrobe sits on a recessed satinwood cross-banded plinth. The wardrobe separates into two main sections; the plinth and cornice is also detachable, allowing for easy access into a house and up a staircase.
The wardrobe features a mellow brown burr maple colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The wardrobe would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the bedroom. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
This wardrobe is in fine original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of them. The portrait mirror does exhibit some aging; the mirror can be replaced with a new one, if desired. The wardrobe retains its original wooden handles, brass key escutcheons, with the original working locks and key. The wardrobe is solid in joint and ready to use.
