Here is an example of a fine quality and unusual Art Deco bureau / desk, incorporating shelves below, circa 1930, in excellent original condition. The bureau features a hinged fall, secured by twin brass stays, to reveal a large writing surface area. The interior comprises 4 internal pigeon holes. These pigeon holes are ideal for storing paperwork or mail. The fall is decorated with stunning mirror matched burr walnut veneers and is fitted with the original working brass lever lock (with key). Further below, there are two adjustable shelves, which are idea for storing magazines and books. The bureau is raised on a recessed black plinth and the whole piece incorporates classic Art Deco styling with curved clean minimalist lines.
The bureau features a mellow walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through the years of care and cleaning it has received. This truly is a very beautiful bureau with quality construction and it is original throughout. It is rare to see one in such good condition.

This bureau is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no marks, stains or scratches to the top of the desk or inside the compartments. The fall and cupboard doors feature the original working lock and keys. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through the years of care and cleaning it has received. This is a single piece item; it does not dismantle into sections. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
