Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Edwardian beech office chair, circa 1910, incorporating a revolving mechanism, with a newly upholstered green leather seat, which is in excellent condition. The chair features a comfortable curved bar back, supported by an elegant vertical fan back and shaped supports. The desk chair seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain green leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The Edwardian beech office chair has also been French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. The chair sits on four splayed solid beech legs. The Edwardian office chair incorporates a revolving mechanism which rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The seat chair angle does not tilt. The chair mechanism has been cleaned, restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair frame is sturdy and the item is extremely comfortable to sit on, as it features a lovely padded seat.
The Edwardian beech office chair features a mellow dark golden beech colour. It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This Edwardian desk chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Edwardian beech office chair, circa 1910, incorporating a revolving mechanism, with a newly upholstered green leather seat, which is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no wear, fading or damage. The adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned, restored and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair has been French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. The chair sits on four splayed solid beech legs. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
