Description:
Here is a fine quality antique Edwardian Chippendale style carved mahogany glass Bijouterie display cabinet / table, circa 1910, in excellent original condition. This Bijouterie cabinet comprises a hinged glazed, moulded and blind fretwork carved top, which opens up to gain access to the cabinet. The interior has been newly lined with a taupe colour fabric. The cabinet retains its original working lock and key. The glass is original and in good condition. The bijouterie exhibits Chinese-influenced design, with latticework spandrels, as well as a circular under-tier which is supported by latticework supports. The bijouterie is raised on four fluted tapering legs.
The cabinet boasts classic Chippendale design and styling, which is evident in the fluted legs and Chinese-influenced latticework.
The cabinet features a warm, rich mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the living room or office. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional.
Condition Report:
This Edwardian Bijouterie cabinet table is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. The glass is original, with nominal old use marks, specifically to the lid. The cabinet retains the original working brass lever lock and working key. The brass hinges are also original. The interior has been newly lined with a taupe colour fabric. There are no missing pieces to the latticework spandrels and under-tier supports. As the display cabinet boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
