Here is a good quality antique English George V oak and red leather revolving office armchair, circa 1920, in good condition. The armchair features a padded curved back, secured by shaped arms, on curved vertical supports. The chair boasts padded leather back, with a curved oak frame surrounding. The padded back and sprung seat has been upholstered in top quality burgundy red Rexene leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner. The chair sits on four splayed oak legs that terminate on brass castors. The chair rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The chair mechanism is in good working order having been cleaned and serviced in our workshop. The chair also features a reclining action; the reclining tension can also be adjusted. The armchair is extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a lovely padded seat.
This item features a rich medium brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
