Here is a fine quality antique English Edwardian solid oak revolving office desk arm chair, circa 1910, which has been newly upholstered in sage green leather and is in excellent condition. The armchair boats a comfortable upholstered rectangular high back, which is secured by shaped arms. The chair seat and back have been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain sage green leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The chair has also been French polished, by hand, to a professional standard. The chair sits on four splayed solid oak legs that terminate on solid brass & mug castors, which are in excellent condition. The chair incorporates a revolving mechanism which rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The mechanism also features a reclining action, the tension of which can be adjusted by turning a small wheel at the front of the mechanism. The chair mechanism has been cleaned, restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair frame is sturdy and the item is extremely comfortable to sit on, as it features a lovely padded seat.
The armchair features a mellow brown oak colour. It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This oak and leather office chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
The Edwardian desk chair and mechanism are in excellent condition, considering its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat and back have been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain sage green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no wear, fading or damage. The reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned, restored and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a mellow oak colour, having been professionally French polished, by hand, in our workshops. The chair features solid brass & mug castors, which are also in excellent condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
