This is a good quality antique 16″ mahogany wall clock, circa 1930, designed for use in municipal buildings, with a railway station design, has been lovingly restored to its former glory and is now in good working order, as can been seen from the photos. The painted tin dial is an old replacement dial, exhibiting wear and old use marks. The mahogany case is in lovely condition having been French polished. The brass-hinged bezel is in good working order, with some play to the hinge. The bezel-locking latch is present and working and prevents the bezel from opening. The mechanism is original; it has been cleaned and serviced and is in good working order, keeping good time. As we are confident that you will have no problems with the mechanism, we offer a 2-year UK warranty whereby if there were a mechanical problem with the clock, we would collect it free of charge from you, have it repaired and returned free of charge to you. We also offer a 14-day UK returns policy if you were not happy with it or wanted to return it for any reason. Please also note, this railway wall clock has the original mechanism; it has not been replaced with a cheaper devaluing electrical battery-operated kit that you see on some clocks.
Discription
Here is a good quality large English beech adjustable artist’s painting easel, from the George V period, circa 1930, in good original condition. Constructed with two vertical structural stiles and a central adjustable bar that slides up and down, the top of the picture frame is secured by a height adjustable wooden clamp, which the height can be adjusted by undoing a large brass threaded screw. The central spine of the painting easel features a threaded steel bar, allowing the easel to rise and fall, by winding the crank handle. With the ability to display either small or large pictures, this is ideal for a variety of pictures sizes to be displayed. The painting easel can display large pictures frames up to a height of 140 cm, therefore it can accommodate large pictures! The base of the picture frame is supported by a wide sill that will accommodate a picture frame up to 140 cm deep. Below, is a full width working drawer, ideal for storing paint brushes. The artists easel base is constructed on a large twin block, united by two stretchers, raised on its original castors. Adjustable brass threaded screws are can used to lift the easel clear off the floor on all four corners, to prevent it from moving whilst in use. Two telescopic braces behind the easel support the upright stiles. The braces incorporate adjustable brass threaded screw, to enable you to adjust the angle of the easel.
The painting easel has been traditionally wax polished by hand in our workshop; therefore, the finish and colour are in excellent condition.
The painting easel features a rustic oak colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination having been cleaned and wax polished, along with the years of care and cleaning it has received.
This painting easel would look superb in either an artist’s studio or gallery. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional.
