Description:
This is a very good quality pair of antique English Regency rosewood bar back side chairs, with newly upholstered in floral silk embroidered seats, circa 1830, in excellent original condition. The chairs feature a curved backrest incorporating a bowed “bar back” top rail, decorated with a carved pediment. Below the top rail is an attractive, shaped horizontal central splat flanked by two chamfered vertical rails. The chair frame frieze boasts finely curved scroll mouldings. The newly upholstered seats are comfortable to sit on; they are supportive and do not sag. The undersides of the seats incorporate new hessian backing. The chairs are raised on elegant hexagonal shaped and ring turned legs, with sabre rear legs. These chairs are solid, well-constructed and heavy – a sign of quality.

The chairs feature a rich brown rosewood colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.

They would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway to the kitchen. The chairs would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
