Description:
This is a top-quality antique English set of four Georgian dining chairs, constructed of solid mahogany, from the George IV period, circa 1825, which have been newly upholstered and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in excellent original condition. These strong and heavy chairs are designed with an attractive curved bar back decorated with reeding, flanked by reeded stiles, with a reeded splayed horizontal splat, secured to shaped, reeded vertical supports. The seat frame is raised on ring turned front legs, with sabre legs to the rear. The legs are united by elegant turned cross-stretchers, which denote the quality of these chairs (few Georgian chairs feature this extra detail). This set of four Georgian dining chairs boasts the original polish; therefore, they have a fantastic depth of colour and patination, displaying a lovely rich red and brown colour. The seats have been newly upholstered to a professional standard in pale grey herringbone structured wool & cotton upholstery. The upholstery is therefore clean and free from wear and marks. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice. If you would like the seats recovered, please contact us for a quote.
These four mahogany dining chairs, would look good anywhere, in either a traditional or contemporary setting, for formal or everyday use. They would certainly grace any home or office and are a great investment, as they are extremely functional.
