Below the open shelves are two fielded panel cupboard doors; ideal for storing paperwork or other objects. The left-hand door retains the original brass sliding bolt, and the right-hand door retains its original brass lever lock (with working key) and original external brass drop-ring handle. The Victorian mahogany bookcase stands on its original block moulded plinth.
