This is a good quality pair of late Georgian mahogany armchairs, circa 1800, in the style of the Chippendale period, with newly upholstered seats, in good condition. The chairs are constructed of solid mahogany and feature a shaped top rail, with a finely executed pierced central fretwork back splat, flanked by vertical moulded rails. The armchairs incorporate splayed arms, which are elegantly shaped and are secured on shaped vertical supports. Incorporating a drop-in seat design, the seat frames are finely moulded. The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality embroidered structured silk damask upholstery with a gold wheatsheaf pattern on a black background. Therefore the seats are in excellent and clean condition, with no marks. The seats are well padded and firm but comfortable at the same time – you do not sink into the seat. The chairs feature moulded block legs to the front, with sabre legs to the rear, united by ‘H’ stretchers for additional strength. Please note, this is a true set of chairs; they have not been matched together from other sets of chairs.
The chairs boast a rich, dark mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
This set of chairs would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom, dining room, office or library. They would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely set of furniture.

The chairs are in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frames, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There have been old repairs to the chair frames. The chairs have been wax polished and all loose joints have been glued in our workshop; therefore the chairs are now solid in joint. This is a true set of chairs (they have not been matched together). The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality embroidered structured silk damask upholstery with a gold wheatsheaf pattern on a black background. Therefore the seats are in excellent and clean condition, with no marks. The seats are well padded and firm, but comfortable at the same time – you do not sink into the seat. As the chairs retain the original polish, the frames boast a lovely original colour and patination that has some variation. They are solid in joint (not loose or wobbly) and are ready to use.
