Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Victorian pair of display cabinets, constructed from rosewood, incorporating brass gallery tops and astragal bevel glazed doors, circa 1880, in excellent condition. They are designed to be wall hung. Incorporating brass gallery tops, above a moulded cornice, each wall cabinet features an astragal glazed door, which open to reveal a useful display or storage space inside. The doors retain the original brass lever locks (with key), with the original brass drop handles. The glazed doors are decorated with applied broken pediment moudlings and flanked by decorative rosewood stiles, inlaid with boxwood, terminating on turned drop finials. The pair of display cabinets have hanging brackets on the backboards, allowing them to be screwed to the wall.
These are decorative wall hanging display cabinets, which could be used in a variety of rooms around the house. They are solid in joint and ready to use. Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Victorian pair of display cabinets, constructed from rosewood, incorporating brass gallery tops and astragal glazed doors, wall hung, circa 1860, in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The brass gallery is in good original condition. The glass door panels are original, with not breaks. The doors retain the original brass drop handles and original working lever locks (with key). The backboards incorporate brass brackets, with screw holes for mounting them to the wall. The Victorian pair of display cabinets have been cleaned and wax-polished by hand in our workshop to a professional standard; therefore, the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. They are solid in joint and ready to use.
