Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency bow front side table, constructed of solid mahogany side, with ebony & boxwood inlay, circa 1820, in excellent original condition. The Regency bow front table features a pretty bow-front design, with a single-plank top, and drawer below, decorated with fine ebony & boxwood inlay to the frame. The drawer front, which is cock-beaded, retains the original mahogany knobs and original working lever lock, with working key. The drawer interior retains the original blue paper lining, which is nice to see. The mahogany lined drawer runs smoothly, closing flush to the frame. The Regency bow front table is raised on four straight tapering block legs. The table retains the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional joined manner for that period. Ideal for use a side, lamp, writing or occasional table. This Georgian mahogany side table is solid in joint and ready to use.
This Regency bow front table boasts a lovely rich mahogany colour, having been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop. Therefore, the colour and patination are of an excellent standard, along with the years of care and cleaning it has received.
This Regency bow front table would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the hallway, or useful as a lamp or writing table. Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency bow front side table, constructed of solid mahogany side, with ebony & boxwood inlay, circa 1820, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, top and inside of drawer, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). The table has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The drawer is in good working order and closes flush to the frame. The drawer retains the original working lock, with working key, and original knobs. The drawer interior retains its original blue paper lining from the Regency period. Age related wear to the satinwood string inlay around the drawer front and table top (see photo). The drawer is mahogany lined, runs smoothly and closes flush to the frame. This Georgian side table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
