Description:
This is a top quality set of four Edwardian carved mahogany armchairs, circa 1900, in the style of the Georgian Chippendale period, having newly upholstered seats, in very good condition. The chairs are constructed of solid mahogany and feature a shaped serpentine top rail, below which is a finely executed pierced central fretwork splat, topped by understated foliate carvings and flanked by vertical moulded rails. Incorporating a drop-in seat design, the seat frames are finely moulded. The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality hardwearing silk damask upholstery, with traditional hessian material to the underside. Therefore the seats are in excellent and clean condition, with no marks. The seats are firm, but comfortable; you do not sink into the seat. Elegantly shaped cabriole legs terminate on pad feet at the front, with splayed block legs to the rear. The chairs are heavy in weight and are structurally sound; this is a further sign of quality.

The armchairs emulate a rich mid-brown mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.

These armchairs would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom, hallway, office or library.  These armchairs would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
