This type of tray was used both on grand tours and campaigns, but also in wealthy houses for serving drinks. It boasts a top-quality front-loading tray with pierced shaped side carrying handles. As it is constructed with a single plank of top quality mahogany with a dovetail construction, this is a sign of superior quality, with a stunning colour & patination. The base is constructed of a single mahogany plank (another sign of quality). The tray sits on a good quality block shaped mahogany-folding stand with a connecting ring-turned stretcher for additional strength. The tray and stand are original to each other. The tray has been French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop. There are no ring / water marks on the tray top surface. The hessian webbing has been renewed on the stand to ensure it is sturdy and fit for purpose.
