Description:
This is a fine quality antique English free-standing Victorian mahogany desk, measuring 4ft 6” wide, with a green & gold tool leather, circa 1860, in excellent condition. The Victorian mahogany pedestal desk has been fitted with a top-quality full grain green leather hide, decorated with gold tooling, set within a mahogany frame and thumb moulded top. If you prefer a different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice – please contact us for a quote. The frieze comprises a large central drawer, flanked by two smaller drawers. Each pedestal features three graduated drawers. The frieze sits on the two pedestals, located and secured by four wooden blocks on the top of each pedestal. The drawers retain their original mahogany knobs, key escutcheons and original working brass lever locks (with keys). The drawers are constructed with solid mahogany drawer linings, with fine hand-dovetail construction and quarter beading internal corner strips (a sign of quality). The pedestals are designed with elegant rounded edges and sit on their original rounded plinths, featuring brass & ceramic castors underneath, allowing the desk to be moved when assembled.
The Victorian mahogany desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy access into the house, be it through a narrow door way or up a staircase.

This is a fine quality antique English free-standing Victorian mahogany desk, measuring 4ft 6” wide, with a green & gold tool leather, circa 1860, in excellent condition. The Victorian office desk has been cleaned and wax-polished in our workshop. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desktop frame, pedestals and plinths but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The mahogany desk has been fitted with a top-quality full grain green inset leather hide, decorated with gold tooling, therefore the leather is in excellent condition. If you prefer different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice – please contact us for a quote. The drawers retain their original mahogany knobs, key escutcheons and working brass lever locks (with keys). Nominal old use marks to the insides of the drawers, with ink stains and other marks visible in some drawers. All drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The Victorian mahogany desk pedestals sit on ceramic castors. This desk is solid in joint and ready to use.
