This is a superb quality antique English Victorian octagonal solid ash inlaid & carved library / breakfast dining table, from the aesthetic movement, circa 1880, in excellent original condition. The table boasts a solid ash two-plank moulded octagonal top, featuring Greek key geometric ebony marquetry inlay, as well as ebony circular patrea carvings to each corner. The table-top also features a straight reeded apron. The table is supported by a quadriform ring turned and fluted column pedestal, with a turned central finial. The column supports also boast raised ebony lozenge carvings to the base. The chamfered shaped legs terminate on the original brass castors. This library table is well-made, solid in joint and ready to use. The top can be unscrewed from the base to assist with access into the house if necessary.
The table boasts a rich brown ash colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This table would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially in an open hallway, office or library; it would even serve happily as a four-seat dining table. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

This Victorian library table is in excellent original condition. The table has been French polished, by hand, in our workshops to a professional standard, to revive the colour and patination. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There is no missing marquetry inlay to the table and all the carvings are original and intact. There are also no breaks to the legs or frame and the feet retain the original brass castors. This table is solid in joint and ready to use.
