Description:
This is a fine quality English antique set of six Victorian Windsor armchairs, constructed of solid ash and elm, with stunning colour, circa 1850, in excellent original condition. The Victorian kitchen chairs are designed with an elegant pierced central splat, flanked by spindles, secured in place with a single bowed ash hoop rail. The backs are secured to stunning single piece saddle shaped elm seats, with bar shape arms, secured by turned supports. The armchairs are raised on turned legs, united by “H” form stretchers, which makes them a firm utility chair, ideal for daily use in the kitchen. The stick back style of chair first originated in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. The chairs feature a stunning rich colour with fabulous grain configuration visible on the elm seats.
These six Victorian Windsor armchairs boast the classic country styling; they would be at home in either a traditional or contemporary setting in a kitchen or dining room and they consume very little space. The Victorian kitchen chairs boast a rich brown ash and elm colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through the years of care and cleaning they have received.

Condition Report:
This is a fine quality English antique set of six Victorian Windsor armchairs, constructed of solid ash and elm, with stunning colour, circa 1850, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges (e.g., seats, back and legs) but nothing significant considering the age of them. The chair joints have been glued and the chair frames have been wax-polished, by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop to revive the stunning colour and grain configuration. As his is a handmade period set of chairs, there is some variation in the colour and size of the chairs. The chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. They are well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
