The mirror is supported by a pair of finely carved pierced fretwork arm supports above a central well, flanked by two pedestal chests. The central well features a blind working drawer below. The Victorian dressing table, stands on two pedestals incorporating five graduated drawers each; decorated with stunning burr walnut detail, retaining the original turned knobs. The drawer linings are constructed of solid mahogany with hand dove-tailed construction and quarter beading (sign of quality). The drawers in each pedestal retain their original working locks (with key). The Victorian dressing table rests on the original moulded plinths and retains the original iron and mug castors. The Victorian dressing table retains the original backboards to the base and mirror. The mirror and carved arm supports can be dismounted for easy storage and transportation.

Condition Report:
This is a stunning quality antique Victorian dressing table, constructed from burr walnut, with a twin pedestal design and a central hinged mirror, circa 1860, in excellent original condition. The Victorian dressing table, is in excellent original condition, having been cleaned and French polished by hand in in our workshop, therefore the finish, colour and patination is of an excellent standard. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The mirror, which is the original mirror, is in good original condition, with a very small sign of foxing, near the bottom edge in the centre (see photos). In our opinion the level of foxing is acceptable and add to the originality of the whole piece, considering it’s a Victorian mirror and over 150 years old. However, if you want the glass replacing for a new mirror, please contact us for a quote. The Victorian dressing table pedestal drawers close flush to the frame and they also retain their original turned knobs and working locks. There are some old use marks to the drawer bottoms (see photos) but nothing significant. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
