This is a fine quality antique English set of four Victorian dining chairs, constructed of solid rosewood, circa 1860, which have been newly upholstered and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in good overall condition. Ideal for use as occasional chairs in either the dining, living room or hallway. The Victorian salon chairs are designed with an attractive “kidney” shaped moulded back, and a scroll carved horizontal splat. The seats have been newly upholstered to a professional standard in newly upholstered in top quality William & Morris inspired silver & grey brocade upholstery, with a fine leaf pattern, finished with a traditional hessian to the underside. The upholstery is therefore clean and free from wear and marks. The four Victorian dining chairs stand on moulded cabriole legs to the front, terminating on fine scroll toes, and sabre legs to the rear.
The rosewood timber on these Victorian salon chairs exudes a rich warm colour. The chair frames have been cleaned and French-polished by hand, therefore the colour and patination are of a high standard, along with the years of care and cleaning they have received.
These four Victorian salon chairs would look would look good anywhere, in either a traditional or contemporary setting. They would certainly grace any home or office and are a great investment, as they are extremely functional.

This is a fine quality antique English set of four Victorian dining chairs, constructed of solid rosewood, circa 1860, which have been newly upholstered and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in good overall condition. The chair frames have been cleaned and French-polished by hand, therefore the colour and patination are of a high standard, along with the years of care and cleaning they have received. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frames, but nothing significant considering the age of them. Old repairs to some of the chair frames – all of which are completely solid in joint. The stuff-over seats have been newly upholstered to a professional standard in newly upholstered in top quality William & Morris inspired silver & grey brocade upholstery, with a fine leaf pattern, finished with traditional webbing and hessian to the underside. The upholstery is therefore clean and free from wear and marks. If you do not like the colour/style/condition of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice – please contact us for a re-upholstery quote. The chair frame and joints are all in excellent condition, solid in joint and ready to be used.
