Description:
This is a fine quality pair antique English pair of office chairs, constructed from solid mahogany, from the late Victorian period, circa 1880, in excellent condition. The pair of Victorian desk chairs have been newly upholstered to a professional standard in top quality full-grain burgundy red leather. The quality of the upholstery shows exceptional craftmanship. The scroll shaped backrest incorporates deep buttoning, which not only looks elegant, provides plenty of back support. The backrest is secured by curved upholstered arms, above a frame of ring-turned spindles, with the front of the arms incorporating decorative floral shaped etched carvings. The pair of office chairs feature a comfortable padded leather bow-shaped seats. The leather is finished with hand-tacked antique brass studs around the perimeter of the upholstery, with traditional hessian backing to the underside of the seat. The pair of office chairs are supported by ring-turned legs at the front, with splayed legs to the rear, terminating on brass cup castors, with brown mug castors wheels
The pair of office chairs boast a lovely rich colour and patination; having been cleaned and French polished in our workshop. This pair of Victorian desk chairs would look superb in either a traditional or contemporary setting, perfect in a variety of rooms from the home office or library. This pair of office chairs would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional and comfortable.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality pair antique English pair of office chairs, constructed from solid mahogany, from the late Victorian period, circa 1880, which have been newly upholstered in top quality burgundy red leather, in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frames, but nothing significant considering the age of the them. The chair frames have been cleaned, glued and French polished in our workshop; therefore, they are sturdy and boast a stunning rich colour and patination. The pair of office chairs have been newly upholstered in top quality full grain burgundy leather, finished with deep-buttoning, and brass studs to the perimeter. The seats incorporate new fillings and webbings, with a hessian underside. The chair legs incorporate new English made brown mug & brass castors, which are in excellent condition. The pair of desk chairs are well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
