This is a fine quality antique English early Victorian mahogany round occasional / centre table, circa 1840, with small proportions, in good original condition. The table feature a mahogany hinged circular top. The table retains its original working brassware, which consists of a sprung locking mechanism, operating a double latch on the underside of the table. This allows the top to be lifted vertically, for storage purposes. The table features an octagonal tapering central pedestal, which terminates on a tri-form base. The table rests on its original bun feet. This table is well-constructed, solid in joint and ready to use. Ideal for use as a small dining table or a decorative centre / occasional table. The table can accommodate between up to four seats and is sufficiently tall enough to comfortably fit your legs underneath. It is also wide enough to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table.
The table boasts a rich brown mahogany colour. It has good colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This table would look superb in a variety of rooms, from the dining room to the drawing room, library or in a large hallway entrance. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
