Description:

This is a stunning quality antique English Victorian mahogany office chair, with a newly upholstered green leather seat, circa 1870, in excellent original condition.  The Victorian desk chair boasts a curved bar-back, secured by elegant down swept arms, terminating on scroll-ends, with a pierced and shaped vertical splat.  The Victorian mahogany office chair has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full-grain green leather.  The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner.  The revolving seat is secured to the base by four sturdy cabriole shaped legs, featuring English made solid brass castors.  The Victorian mahogany office chair revolves 360 degrees; it is not designed to tilt (only later Edwardian chairs featured a “tilt” function).  The Victorian dsk chair is very comfortable, has a fantastic colour and is in very good condition.

The chair features a rich deep mahogany colour.  As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This is a stunning quality antique English Victorian mahogany office chair, with a newly upholstered green leather seat, circa 1870, in excellent original condition.  The seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain green leather.  The revolving mechanism is in good working order, having been cleaned and restored.  The legs are sturdy and stand on English made solid brass replacement castors.  There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair.  The English Victorian mahogany office chair boasts a mellow colour, having been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop.  This Victorian desk chair is solid in joint and ready to use.
