This antique Victorian leather oak desk armchair and mechanism are in excellent overall condition, considering its age. Nominal old use marks to the frame and leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat and back have been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain olive green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition. The adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned, restored and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair mechanism is not designed to recline.
