Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany tall full length rectangular wall hanging or floor standing mirror, circa 1880, in good original condition. The item boasts a lovely moulded mahogany frame, with stunning grain configuration. The frame is arched at the top and the top also boasts a lovely carved pediment. The back of the mirror retains its original backboards, with a new metal hanging chain (for safety reasons). This mirror has been adapted from a Victorian dressing table some time ago. The mirror is tall (5ft 7⅝” high) and so can be used as a full-length mirror. The mirror retains its original glass, which is in very good condition, with no signs of foxing.
This wall mirror boasts a rich brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The mirror is a good practical piece of furniture; its size, not being overly large or small, is such that it would be well suited in a wide variety of spaces. The mirror would look superb in several rooms from the hallway to the bedroom, or even in a shop for dress fittings.
