Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian oak desk chair, circa 1860, which has newly upholstered in leather and is in excellent condition. The chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sage green leather. The Victorian oak desk chair boasts an elegant curved leather scroll back, finished with deep buttoning, secured to carved side supports and a carved vertical central back splat. The leather scroll back features lovely oak carved caps above the shaped supports at the front of the chair. The buttoned stuff over seat has been newly sprung and webbed to ensure that the seat is supportive and extremely comfortable to sit on. The upholstery incorporates traditional horsehair fillings. The underside of the Victorian oak desk chair seat has been finished with black cotton. The bow-fronted seat is finished with brass studwork to its perimeter. The Victorian oak desk chair stands on elegant carved tapering legs to the front, with splayed legs to the rear, and terminates on its original brass castors.
The Victorian oak desk chair displays a rich dark red-brown colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.

Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian oak desk chair, circa 1860, which has newly upholstered in leather and is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the oak frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sae green leather. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no signs of wear and tear, damage or holes etc. The chair frame incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the sprung seat perimeter and hessian to the underside. The chair frame boasts a warm oak colour, having been cleaned and French polished in our workshop. The chair legs retain the original solid brass castors, which are also in good condition. This Victorian oak desk chair is solid in joint and ready to use.
