Description:
This is a fine quality English antique Victorian set of two dining chairs, constructed of solid mahogany, with a “spear” back design, circa 1870, which have been newly upholstered, in excellent condition. Ideal for use in the dining room, office, or bedroom. The pair of Victorian chairs are designed with an attractive “spear” shaped back, with a pear-shaped pierced central vertical splat. This set of two dining chairs feature drop-in seats, which have been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality linen union fabric, depicting foliage a and floral detail, finished with hessian to the undersides. If you do not like the colour / style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice (we charge £25 labour per seat). The chair frames, which have been cleaned and French polished, to a professional standard, boast a rich colour. The set of two dining chairs are constructed using the traditional “bolt-back” method. The pair of chairs stand on ring turned front legs, sabre rear legs and the seat frame boast an elegant moulded serpentine shaped front rail.
The set of two dining chairs retain the original patination; therefore, they boast a fantastic depth of rich colour, displaying a lovely red and brown mahogany colour. The colour and patination can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.

Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chairs but nothing significant considering the age of the chairs. The chairs have been tightened and professionally French polished in our workshop to a high standard. The set of two dining chairs feature drop-in seats, which have been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality linen union fabric, depicting foliage a and floral detail, finished with hessian to the undersides. If you do not like the colour / style of the upholstery, we can recover the seats in a fabric of your choice (we charge £25 labour per seat). The chair frames and joints are all in excellent condition, solid in joint and are ready to be used.
