Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian solid walnut & brown leather swivel stool, incorporating handles, ideal for use a music or dressing table stool, circa 1880, in good condition. The stool boasts full grain brown leather upholstery, finished with decorative piping. The stool is designed with a pair of elegant shaped handles, facilitating easy positioning of the stool. Below, the stool features a moulded circular frame, which incorporates a revolving mechanism, allowing the upholstered seat to be rotated. The stool is raised on four elegant cabriole legs, incorporating foliate carvings to the knees, and terminating on raised scroll toes.
This stool boasts a rich finish having been French polished by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This leather swivel stool would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom as a dressing table or near the piano as a music stool. This stool is in good overall condition. It features good quality full grain brown leather upholstered seat. Nominal old use marks to the leather and walnut frame, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. There has been an old repair to one of the handles (see photos). Please note, both handles are solid in joint. The carvings to the frame are in excellent condition with no missing pieces. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
