This is a delightful and well proportioned antique George II (circa 1730 – 1750) oak bureau with an attractive interior, fitted with drawers on both side and several pigeon holes and a desk locking key. The bureau has four graduated drawers which are oak lined and hand dovetailed. The drawers feature brass swan neck handles and brass escutcheons. Beneath can be seen pine dust boards which indicate a good quality piece. Pine backboards also feature on the back. The bureau stands on bracket feet.
