Here is a very good quality antique George III Chippendale influenced mahogany side / hall table, circa 1780 in good original condition. This table would have been commissioned for an affluent property owner in England during the later part of the 18th Century. The item features a simple single plank mahogany top finished with a thumb moulding. The top of the table boasts a lovely piece of mahogany, with the patination and colour to the timber superbly pronounced. Below, there is one large working pine lined hand-dovetailed drawer, which features cock beading; with the original brass swan neck handles and brass back plates. The drawer retains its original lock with a working key. Below the drawer, it is decorated with finely carved open fretwork spandrels that connect to the leg and underside of the table. The table stands simple block legs.
This item features a rich mahogany colour. It has a good colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms including the dining room, living room or the hallway. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
