The tall chest features a protruding moulded cornice, with decorative beading below, above a graduated six-drawer configuration, against a pronounced serpentine design. The chest consists of two halves with an elegant moulding at the midpoint. The top section is smaller than the bottom section, which consists of three graduated drawers. Stunning figured mahogany mirror matched veneers are visible on the drawer fronts, finished with mahogany cock beading, which exhibits a touch of sophistication to this piece. The drawers retain their original circular brass ring handles with back plates decorated with foliate beaded detail. The drawer linings are dovetailed.

The lower section comprises of three graduated drawers in the same bow front design, with a simple moulded apron to the underside terminating on the original ogee bracket feet. The chest also features its original backboards. The item is a single piece chest; it does not dismantle into 2 two sections.
