Here is a fine quality pair of Louis XV style upholstered walnut & tapestry salon armchairs, circa 1920, in good original condition. The armchairs are constructed of solid walnut and feature pretty carved cartouches to the top rail, frieze and legs; with upholstered scroll arms, a shaped back and a serpentine front, raised on fine elegant cabriole legs. The armchairs are upholstered in the original cream embroidered cotton floral tapestries, depicting a provincial country scene with floral detail. The tapestries are finished with the original hand tacked metal studs. Considering the upholstery is original, it’s in good condition boasting clean and vivid colours. The chair bases are firmly sprung so that you do not sink into the seats but at the same time are extremely comfortable.
The chairs feature a warm brown walnut colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
These items would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom, living room, and dining room to the conservatory. They would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

The chairs boast their original cotton tapestries, which still retain clean and vivid colours; they are free of any holes or damage. There are some faint water marks on the seats, near the base of the arms (please see photos) but these do not detract from the overall condition of the upholstery and it does not warrant replacing the original upholstery for this reason. The upholstery is finished with the original metal studs. As the armchairs boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received. The armchairs are solid in joint and ready to use.
