Description:
This is a superb quality set of six Edwardian carved mahogany dining chairs in the style of the Chippendale period having freshly upholstered seats, circa 1900. The set consists of six side chairs. The chairs features shaped serpentine head rails with acanthus leaf ears and a finely executed carved floral pierced central splat flanked by a vertical reeded frame. The chairs have drop in seats, which have been newly upholstered in top quality hard wearing taupe shade wool & cotton upholstery. Elegantly shaped cabriole legs that feature scroll carvings to the upper section of the legs and gadroon moulding to the front apron of the seat, terminate in pronounced ball and claw feet support the chairs. The backs of the chairs are chamfered; this is a sign of top quality. This is a true set of chairs (they have not been matched together) and they are extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight; this is a further sign of quality.

The frames of the chairs feature a rich dark mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.

This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room, dining room, study, and library or office boardroom. The chairs would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
