This is an attractive and very good quality antique Edwardian 4ft wide walnut partner’s leather library table, circa 1910 – 1920. The table features a stunning rich mahogany colour. The tabletop features a new single piece (sign of quality) sage green, gilt and blind-tooled leather. Mahogany cross banding surrounds the perimeter and below there is an elegant reeded edge. Further below, there are two working cock-beaded drawers to each side of the table (four in total). All drawers feature their working locks with keys; the original brass key escutcheons and old replacement brass circular drop ring handles. The drawers are hand dovetailed and constructed with mahogany (a further sign of good quality). Below the drawers sits a lovely reeded frieze. The table sits on four lovely shaped cabriole legs, with acanthus leaf carvings to the knees, terminating on pronounced ball and claw feet and brass castors.

This type of table was designed to stand in the centre of a room so that the two working drawers each side was accessible. This library table is a truly classic design from the post Edwardian period. All in all, this is a very pretty and good quality table.

This item would compliment any home, office or library and is ideal as either a library table writing table or large desk. So, don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture!
