The table has been constructed in the traditional manner with mortise and tenon joints, and then pegged, with a straight frieze each side, decorated with corner spandrels and further shaping at either end. The table is raised on substantial turned gun barrel legs, on block feet, which are united by a central stretcher along the length of the table, and a further stretcher on each end. The table top features a lovely colour & stunning grain configuration, having been polished in our workshops. The table comfortable seats 8 people, 10 at a push, depending on whether single carver armchairs or two side chairs are placed at the table ends (see photos). Benefitting from a central stretcher, it allows you to conveniently place kitchen chairs under the table, without any restrictions. The table is sufficiently tall enough to fit your legs underneath and is sufficiently wide to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table. The table has been solidly constructed and is of excellent quality – it is extremely heavy!

This solid burr oak refectory dining table is in excellent condition, with exceptional build quality. The table has been French polished, to a professional standard, in our workshops. Therefore, there are no scratches, cup marks or stain to the table top. Nominal old use to the top and leading edges of the frame marks, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The table is solid with no breaks, damage or loose movements. The table top boasts a fantastic rich brown oak colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This table is extremely heavy, which is always a sign of good quality.
