Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Victorian Rococo mahogany rectangular duet piano stool, circa 1880, ideal for use as a piano stool, which has been newly upholstered and is in excellent condition. Designed in the style of the Rococo period, it has been newly upholstered in a top quality hardwearing patterned silk damask upholstery, finished with matching braiding. The seat itself is firm, which means that you won’t sink into the upholstery, but at the same time, it is very comfortable to sit on. The seat is flanked by shaped supports which secure the elegant turned arms. Below, the duet piano stool boasts a moulded box frame, with a serpentine shaped frieze, decorated with scribe floral carvings to all four corners, front and rear. The duet piano stool is raised on sturdy cabriole legs, which feature acanthus leaf carvings to the knees. The hinged seat lifts open to reveal an internal storage compartment; ideal for the storage of sheet music. The seat lid will remain open until you close the original solid brass-folding stay on the left-hand side. The compartment roof retains the original mahogany panels to the inside of the lid, as well as the original mahogany base.
This duet piano stool boasts its original polish. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom, as an ottoman, or to the living room as a window seat. This duet piano stool would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

The seat has been newly and professionally upholstered in a top quality hardwearing patterned silk damask upholstery, finished with matching braiding. The seat itself is firm, which means that you won’t sink into the upholstery, but at the same time, it is very comfortable to sit on. Importantly, there are no breaks to the legs or frame. This Victorian piano stool is solid in joint and ready to use.
