This is a superb pair of Victorian flame mahogany bedside chests, circa 1860. They each have four graduated working cock beaded drawers with hand dovetailed joints, oak drawer linings and the original wooden knobs. The bedsides feature working locks and a key. Each bedside chest boasts traditional square cornered molded edges. The backs of the bedsides feature pine back boards. Both chests are constructed of top quality solid mahogany timber finished with a superb flame mahogany finish. During this period, England was imported top quality timber from the colonies.
These chests would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hall way, living room or the bedroom. These chests would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are an extremely functional. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

These bedside chests are in excellent condition and commensurate with age. Nominal old use marks but nothing significant considering the age of the item. These bedsides have been adapted from a dressing table some time ago. The drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame. The bedsides feature working locks and a key. The drawers are oak drawer lined which is a sign of superb quality. The flame mahogany gives a superb colour / patination. There is a small mark to the top of one of one of the bedsides (see photos) – some wear is to be expected considering the age of the item. Free of wood worm, solid in joint and ready to use.
