Artist Provenance
Henry Martin Pope founded Birmingham Arts Centre. He was a prominent Midlands artist, painting landscape and rustic subjects in oil and watercolour. He exhibited at Suffolk Street (pre-Royal Academy) and exhibited 290 works at the Royal British Society of Arts from 1865. His pictures were always peaceful usually of quiet Worcester and Warwickshire village scenes.
