The bottom section consists of three graduated drawers. There are 8 working cock-beaded drawers all features the original working locks and a key. It has the original backboards, original oak drawer linings, hand dovetailed drawer construction and the original moulded cornice above a dentil frieze. The chest features old replacement solid fretwork brass handles however the escutcheons are original. The chest stands on the original bracket feet. The top and bottom are completely original to each other. This is an ideal item for the bedroom to store clothes.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway, to the living room or bedroom and is very useful as there are so many storage drawers. This item would certainly grace any home. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
The chest is in excellent condition. Some nominal old use marks to the leading edges and corners but nothing significant considering its age. There has been some very old restoration to the left side of the chest near the centre point where the two chests join a long time ago (see photos).
