This is a fine quality Georgian style figured walnut serpentine chest of drawers, with lovely proportions and a brushing slide, circa 1970, in excellent original condition. Constructed in the style of the George III period, which was 1760 – 1820, it boasts classic Georgian styling from the elegant brushing slide to the, serpentine design and bracket feet. The chest features a moulded top; featuring lovely mirror matched flame mahogany, with a satinwood cross-banded perimeter. Below are four graduated drawers, which boast elegant mirror matched flame mahogany to the drawer fronts; the two central drawers feature satinwood cross-banding to the sides, while the top and bottom drawers display an additional strip of cross-banding to the top and bottom respectively. The top drawer retains its original working lock, with working key. The drawers retain their original brass fretwork handles and escutcheons and dovetailed construction. There is an elegant and useful pull out brushing slide situated above the top drawer. The chest terminates on its original Georgian style bracket feet. The chest also features its original backboards. This is an ideal item for the bedroom or landing as it provides significant storage space for clothes.
The chest boasts a mellow brown walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This item would certainly grace any home. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
