Oak 8 Day Longcase Grandfather Clock (Circa 1780)

This is superb quality antique George III oak grandfather clock, circa 1780 constructed by Tomkinson of Nantwich, Cheshire. It has an 8 day striking mechanism in working order which keeps good time. It is a single bell strike it strikes on the hour The clock is constructed of oak with mahogany cross banding to the door and plinth. The hood features a gilded decorated frieze with a doomed / pagoda hood and Corinthian columns to the side. There is a brass escutcheon lock and working key. The Corinthian columns also feature on the main body of the clock.
