Here is a good quality pair of small George III style reproduction mahogany “pie crust” top tripod wine tables, circa late 20th century, in good original condition. This style of tripod tables were the most elegant designs during the George III period. The tops are constructed from a single piece of solid mahogany (sign of quality), with a fine “pie crust” edging to the perimeter. The tops are fixed to the pedestal stem. The tables boast a well shaped and very good quality turned & fluted pedestal stem. The tables terminate on lovely cabriole shaped legs. They are completely original (i.e. the top and the base are not a marriage) without any breaks or damage. They would make an ideal pair of lamp or wine tables. It is rare to see a set of good quality tripod tables, even reproduction versions.
The tables feature a rich red mahogany colour. They have a good colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received. These truly are a very beautiful pair, with quality construction and are original throughout. It is rare to see ones in such good condition.
They would look superb in a variety of rooms including the dining room, living room or the hallway. They would be ideal as a pair of lamp tables. They would certainly grace any home or office and are a great investment, as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Height = 64cm or 25⅛” or 2ft 1⅛”
Diameter = 45.5cm or 18” or 1ft 6”
These tables are in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and tops but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The tabletops are made from single piece of solid mahogany. There is an excellent colour to the tops and stems. Importantly, there are no breaks to the stem or legs, which is common with tripod tables. The top and base are original to each other. They are solid in joint and ready to use.
