Here is an attractive pair of good quality English Georgian style burr walnut bedside chest of drawers, with serpentine fronts, circa 1970, in good original condition. The chests feature a classic Georgian style serpentine design, with a stunning burr walnut veneer. The chests feature four mahogany lined, dovetailed drawers with cock-beaded frames. The drawers also incorporate classic Georgian style brass swan neck handles, secured by shaped escutcheons. The chests are raised on a moulded frame, terminating on Georgian bracket feet.
This pair of chests would look great in a variety of rooms from the living room as lamp tables, or the bedroom as bedsides. They are an extremely useful pair of chests to have in the house. The chests boast a warm mellow colour with a lovely patination to the timber.
This pair of chests are in goo original condition. They have been wax-polished and the handles cleaned in our workshops. There are no marks, scratches or stains to the tops of the chests. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mouldings, frame and inside drawer bottoms, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawers are free running and close flush to the frame. All brassware is in excellent condition and is present. These bedsides are solid in joint; they do not wobble and are ready to use.
