Description:
This is a fine quality antique English small Regency chest of drawers, from the Georgian period, constructed of solid mahogany, with a bow front shape, comprising four drawers, circa 1810, in excellent condition. Owing to its small proportions, the mahogany chest could also be used as bedside / nightstand. The small chest of drawers boasts a solid singe piece mahogany top, which is a sign of quality and rarely seen in chests of drawers. Designed with an elegant bow front shape, comprising two smaller drawers at the top, with two larger drawers below, the drawers retain their original pine linings and are constructed fine hand-dovetailed joints. The drawer fronts feature period oval backplates, embossed with oak acorns and leaves, comprising drop handles and brass key escutcheons. All drawers retain their original steel working lever locks (with key). The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The small Regency chest of drawers stands on it original well shaped mahogany splayed bracket feet, united by an elegant shaped apron. The back of the chest retains its original pine back boards. This is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency mahogany chest of drawers, constructed of flame, with a bow front shape, featuring stunning flame mahogany drawer fronts, circa 1820, in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the top, front, leading edges and inside of the drawers, but nothing significant, considering its age. The chest has been cleaned and traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the patination and colour are of an excellent standard. The drawer fronts feature good quality period oval brass handles and key escutcheons. All drawers retain their original steel working lever locks (with key). The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. All drawers also retain their original steel working lever locks (with key).
