Description:

This is a fine quality English 18^th century style solid oak coffee table, with adjustable gate legs, constructed with exceptionally good honey oak timbers, circa 1980, in excellent original condition.  Incorporating a lovely solid oak bevel moulded top, the oak coffee table comprises a gate leg design, with two drop-down leaves, retaining the original hinges, supported on gate legs.  The leaves can be set so, that you have one or two leaves up, depending on the space available.  Below the top, at either end of the frame, is a simple shaped frieze. The legs, including the gatefold legs, are bobbin turned, terminating on bobbin feet.  The legs are united by stretchers, for additional strength. Ideal for use as either an occasional table or coffee table.  The oak coffee table is exceptionally well constructed, very sturdy / heavy and is ready to use.

This oak coffee table features a mellow honey oak colour.  As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This item would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the dining room or kitchen. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional.

Condition Report:

This is a fine quality English 18^th century style solid oak coffee table, with adjustable gate legs, constructed with exceptionally good honey oak timbers, circa 1980, in excellent original condition.  The table has been cleaned and French polished by hand in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard.  Nominal old use marks to the top and leading edges, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item (please see photos).  No breaks to the legs or frame.  The steel hinges are sturdy and in excellent condition.  The table is exceptionally well constructed, very sturdy and is ready to use.
