This is a great example of a superb quality and very rare South Wales George II small oak dresser displaying a fantastic deep rich colour, circa 1730 – 1750. The dresser boasts great craftsmanship, colour and patination. The dresser features an open rack which sits on shoes above the base. The base consists of three cock beaded working pine lined drawers above a beautifully scalloped frieze to the front and sides this is typical of this provenance. The drawers feature the original brass oval escutcheons and handles. Below, the dresser sits stands on chamfered legs which terminate in a two plank pot-board base which sits 2” above the floor. This item is completely original. This dresser boasts a super deep rich oak colour which has been created from 200 years of care and is a sought after size and the small size makes it an excellent practical furnishing piece.
This dresser is an excellent investment and would look superb in a variety of rooms from the kitchen, hall way or the living room. This dresser base would certainly grace any home. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
The whole dresser is completely original. The base and rack are original. Nominal old use marks to the top of the dresser but please remember this has been a working dresser for just under 300 years. The rack hooks have been removed a long time ago. Free of active woodworm. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
