Description:
Here is a fine quality vintage English Art Deco walnut wardrobe, featuring two-doors, boasting a stunning cloud shape design, circa 1940, in excellent original condition.  Constructed by Conway Furnishers, Turnpike Parade, the wardrobe comprises an elegant Art Deco “cloud shaped” design, the wardrobe features two doors which boasts stunning mirror matched figured walnut veneers with the original vertical tapered handles and figured walnut sides.  The door retains the original working lock (with a working key).  he left door features a locking latch, which keep the door closed whilst the right-hand door is open.  Inside the wardrobe are two hanging rails with an internal storage compartment on the top right-hand side.   The Art Deco walnut wardrobe sits on a recessed plinth and back features solid backboards.  The wardrobe can be dismantled into two sections to allow for easy access up a staircase and into the bedroom.

The Art Deco walnut wardrobe would be at home in any traditional or contemporary setting and consumes very little space.  This piece boasts classic art deco styling in the overall design of the curved moulded frame, corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the plinth.

This Art Deco walnut wardrobe features a mellow figured walnut colour.  It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This wardrobe is in excellent original condition.  Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item.  The Art Deco walnut wardrobe has been cleaned and French polished by hand in our workshop to a professional standard.  The wardrobe retains its original interior, including hanging rails and internal compartments.  The doors retain their original door latches, handles and working lock (with key).  The Art Deco walnut wardrobe retains its original backboards and it stands on its original recessed plinth.  This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
