Description:
Here is an unusual and sought-after vintage English brown leather book shaped coffee table, circa 1980, in good original condition. The frame is constructed in plaster and overlaid with a brown leather and gold tool insert to the perimeter. The leather boasts a lovely rich deep brown colour. The top bookbinding’s open to reveal two drawers on metal runners, which are lined in black velvet style fabric. The bottom bookbinding is fixed. The table sits on four wooden bun feet.

This vintage coffee table is unique and quirky and would be an ideal interior decorators’ item. The item would be at home in any traditional or contemporary setting and consumes very little space.

Condition Report:
The coffee table is solid in joint and is commensurate with its age. Nominal old use marks to the leather on the leading edges, top and sides but nothing significant considering the age of the item. However, there are no large rips of tears to the leather. The leather exhibits a stunning rich brown colour. Please see detailed photos for further information. The two drawers open and close flush to the frame. Nominal old use marks to the black fabric inside the drawers (see photos). This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
